Group Art Show: Homage

Homage is a show or demonstration of respect or dedication to someone or something, sometimes by simple declaration but often by some more oblique reference, artistic or poetic.

In February, I’ll be showing this piece and hopefully a few others in a group show at the River’s Edge Gallery in Wyandotte, MI. The show is entitled Homage and is still open if any of you are interested in entering work. Contact me and I’ll hook you up with the organizers. Pieces are due Feb 10th and the show will run through the end of March.

There will be two meet the artist nights, Feb 17th and March 16th, which I plan to attend. I’m super excited to get my work framed up for the show, so I’ll post about that soon as well.

Here’s a map to the gallery. The show will be on the second floor.

⚘ Another Poem ⚘

In a world of clever and cold,

Of jab to the jugular and swift kick to the shin

I prefer to stand with innocence and beauty

And the belief that we are getting better

And are worth saving.

☠ Poems ☠

If what they say is true one day I’ll be snatched away from you, or you from me as the case may be. It’s not a race but I hope that we tie when we die.

You see a realm beyond ours and I don’t agree, but if the case should be that you are right and I am wrong, I hope you’ll take me along.
